How it came about

Kiel meets the Cotswolds

Chop Chop Bloom began with a conversation about garden shears: why should tools you use for a lifetime look like hardware-shop stock? Ever since, our shears have been made in Kiel and the leather has been stitched by hand in Lichtenau.

The Perennial has spent years writing about slow living in the Cotswolds — about seasons, about patience, about things that stay. Two brands, one conviction: what is made well outlasts a single season.

100% Made in Germany

Our shears come from one of the oldest family businesses in Kiel, which has been developing garden shears since 1923.

Leather stitched by hand

The handles are hand-stitched by Ulrich Czerny in Lichtenau, whose work has been recognised with the Hessian State Prize for German Arts and Crafts, among others.

One million cuts

The cutting mechanism is engineered for at least one million cuts. A tool for a gardening lifetime.
