How it came about

Two Pairs of Hands

Every pair of our shears is cut and assembled in Kiel. The handles then travel to Lichtenau, where Ulrich Czerny stitches the leather by hand — as do the craftspeople he has trained over the years.

The second pair belongs to Josie. Her garden in the Cotswolds was not planted in a hurry, and neither was this edit. That is the whole of it: things made slowly, by people you can name, for gardeners who intend to keep them.

01

100% Made in Germany

Our shears come from one of the oldest family businesses in Kiel, which has been developing garden shears since 1923.

02

Leather stitched by hand

The handles are hand-stitched by Ulrich Czerny in Lichtenau, whose work has been recognised with the Hessian State Prize for German Arts and Crafts, among others.

03

One million cuts

The cutting mechanism is engineered for at least one million cuts. A tool for a gardening lifetime.

In the garden with Josie Irons

“I simply adore my Chop Chop Bloom Secateurs; snipping through even the thickest rose stems has genuinely never been so effortless. Honestly, I've never known pruning to be quite so brilliant or beautifully aesthetic before!”
